WHERE ARE WE?

The Shaka Surf Club is a surf school and campsite based in the small fishing village of Kodi Bengre in Karnataka, on the west coast of India. We also have a Shaka Shack where our students can relax, read and watch surf movies in between surf sessions.

HOW TO GET HERE

By Train: The Shaka Surf Club is just 20 mins away from Udupi Railway Station
By Bus: Any bus that goes to Malpe or Udupi
By Flight: Nearest airport is in Mangalore, that is 1.5 hours away from The Shaka Surf Club.

ACCOMMODATION

If you are coming to surf with us, we'd love for you to stay with us at our campsite, Camp Namaloha! (check out the virtual tour) Located right at the surf spot, facing the river and sea on either side, Camp Namaloha is the perfect place to unwind and immerse yourself in the surf experience. We hope you can join us this surf season for some waves, sunshine, BBQs and bonfires! Details attached below.

 

If you're looking to stay close to the beach, you can check out Thonse Nature Cure Centre which is just 5 mins away from the beach. They offer yoga and a range of natural therapy treatments, (massages, reflexology etc) as well as accommodation at very reasonable prices

SURF LESSONS

* ALL SURF INSTRUCTORS ARE CERTIFIED IN FIRST AID + CPR!

 

* WE DO NOT GIVE LESSONS TO NON - SWIMMERS!

 

* Each surf session lasts for 2 hours, or till you get tired, whichever comes first.

If you are a school / university student below 21 years of age, you can make use of our SPECIAL STUDENT DISCOUNT PRICE of Rs. 1500 per session per person!

 

* ALL PAYMENTS ARE TO BE MADE PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST SURF LESSON.

SURFBOARD RENTALS

We provide surfboard rentals to intermediate and experienced surfers for Rs. 1000 per session.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

The force of the waves can easily pull your clothes off. So, please make sure you wear a tight rashguard / t-shirt and shorts that can be tied tight with a drawstring.

WHAT DO I BRING?

You will need to bring your own bottle of water, sun block and beach towel.
